2008 Faculty-Led Study Abroad Awards

Three $2,000 Awards

International Programs is pleased to announce the FACULTY-LED STUDY ABROAD INTERNATIONALIZATION AWARD PROGRAM for 2008.

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to provide support to faculty wishing to design and implement study abroad programs and further the internationalization of Washington State University.

Faculty-led programs are the fastest-growing type of study-abroad program at WSU as well as nationally. Several years ago we had only a handful of programs; today, we have more than 20.

These programs have been effective for several reasons.

These types of programs help internationalize the campus in two ways.  They enhance the global competencies of student participants, as well as give faculty members opportunities to expand their international experiences.

Workshop for Interested Faculty

Thursday, January 17

The Education Abroad Office of International Programs has extensive experience working with faculty in developing these programs. International Programs will host a workshop to assist faculty in developing their proposals on Thursday, January 17th from 3-5pm in Bryan Hall 205. If you are on branch campuses poly-com will be available, please contact us so we can coordinate that with your poly-com administrators.
