Arrival and Orientation

Incoming exchange students must arrive in Pullman one week before the start of the semester in order to attend the new international student orientation.

Orientation

New International Student Orientation is mandatory for all international students at Washington State University. This orientation begins the week before the start of each semester.

Orientation is an important part of your exchange to WSU. It will familiarize you with the school and surrounding area before you start your studies. You will also receive the information necessary to maintain your status as an exchange student in the United States. Other sessions during orientation will give you the tools needed for a smooth transition to WSU.

Please visit the Office of International Students and Scholars website for additional information about the orientation schedule at www.ip.wsu.edu/oiss/students/incoming-students/orientation.shtml

Flying into Pullman-Moscow

Students should schedule their flights to arrive at the Pullman-Moscow Airport, not the Spokane Airport. A representative from the Education Abroad office will meet your flight if you arrive at the Pullman-Moscow Airport. Unfortunately we are not able to meet flights arriving in Spokane.

Incoming exchange students must notify the Education Abroad office, by email at edabroad@wsu.edu, with your flight number, arrival date and time so we can arrange to pick you up. Please notify us as soon as you have reserved your flight.

Flying into Spokane

If you fly into Spokane, you will have to take the bus to Pullman. The bus company that travels daily between the Spokane Airport and Pullman is called Wheatland Express. You can make reservations with them at www.wheatlandexpress.com

Bus from Spokane to Pullman

Wheatland Express has three times for departure Monday through Friday, but only one departure on Saturday and Sunday. If you miss their scheduled departure time from the Spokane Airport, you will have to make reservations for the night in a hotel and catch the bus the next day. The cost for the bus from Spokane to Pullman is US $38. Please visit the Wheatland Express web site for additional information about their holiday schedule and reservations.

If you are taking the bus to Pullman, you will need to notify our office of your arrival information, including the date and time of your arrival and what bus line you are using (Wheatland Express, Greyhound). Wheatland Express will drop you off on campus and any other bus line will drop you off in Pullman . We will pick you up from either location and take you to your residence hall.
