Course Registration

Course registration at Washington State University is accomplished by using myWSU, a web-based system that provides online access to just about everything you need to function as a WSU student. On myWSU you can sign up for classes, check your grades, pay bills and more. The web address for myWSU is www.my.wsu.edu

Network ID

The first thing you need to do, before you can sign in to myWSU for the first time, is to obtain a Network Identification, or as we call it a " Network ID, "and a "Password ." This is different from your WSU 8-digit Identification Number; however, you will need your WSU ID number to get your Network ID.

Your WSU ID number will come on your acceptance letter from the WSU Admissions Office. (The Education Abroad Office also emails it to you.) You also will need an access code and again this will be on your Admissions letter or in correspondence from our office. Once you have those 2 pieces of information you can proceed to the myWSU web site and click the link on the left that says " Obtain A Network ID".

Get Your Network ID

The link below leads you to the sign up page for obtaining a network id

You will have to accept an appropriate use statement on the next page, then enter your 8-digit WSU ID number on the following page. Since you will likely not have a Social Security Number, incoming exchange students typically will then need to enter the one-time only access code.

Choose your ID carefully as it can't be changed. Make Sure to Write down the Network ID and password you choose! Once you have your Network ID & password you will use those to register for classes.

Holds on Your Account

Initially you will have a few holds on your registration; the Education Abroad Office at WSU automatically will contact the departments responsible for those holds and will have them released.

  • Once all of your registration holds have been released, you will be able to register for classes.
  • You can not sign up for classes that overlap times, even by 5 minutes.

Once you have consulted the Schedule of classes and selected the courses in which you would like to enroll please see our information about Choosing Your Classes page.

Registration

After completing the steps outlined above, return to www.my.wsu.edu and click on the "Registration" link. Then, select the semester you will attend WSU.

On the next screen you will enter the Network ID and Password you created. You will now be at the registration screen. Enter the schedule line number (SLN) of the class you would like to enroll in inside the box beside: ADD CLASS and press enter. If you are successful, you will see your class added and a message verifying this. If there are time conflicts or other problems you will see some kind of explanation at the top of the screen. Continue to add classes by entering the SLN's until your schedule is complete. You must sign up for at least 12 semester hours to be considered a full time student. You can register for up to 18 semester hours. Any credits over 18 will cost you additional money that is not covered by the tuition waiver we provide. The normal class load for WSU students is between 12 and 15 credits.
