How to Apply
The application process begins by contacting the International Office of your home institution to ask about an exchange possibility to Washington State University.
The International Office at your home institution will have all the details about whether an exchange contract has been established with your school and WSU. They will be able to explain what forms you need to complete and they will have the requisite WSU application paperwork available.
You must deal with the Exchange Coordinator at your school to begin the application process. They must accept you and send your paperwork to us before we can consider you for the program.
WSU Incoming Exchange Student Application
In order for us to start your online incoming exchange application, your exchange coordinator will need to email the following information to edabroad@wsu.edu:
- Your full name
- Your birthdate
- A valid email address (where your secure login can be mailed to you)
- The university you currently attend
- Your TOEFL score
You should complete the online application promptly after you receive an email with your login information from the WSU Education Abroad Office. Any paper submissions should be turned in to your exchange coordinator as one complete packet to be mailed to the WSU Education Abroad Office.
We will look through your application to make sure you meet the requirements of an exchange student and that you have attached the required documents as listed on the application.
Once we have accepted your application, we will forward the paperwork to our Admission's office, where you will be formally accepted to WSU as an exchange student and you will be given a WSU Identification Number (WSU ID). The Admission's office will issue a Welcome letter for you and send that to our office. We must have that letter to generate your DS2019 form, which you will need to apply for your VISA.
As soon as we have your WSU ID, we will begin emailing with you to help you through the process of applying for housing and registering for classes.
When your DS2019 has been generated by the International Office at WSU, we will mail that form along with your welcome letter and a welcome packet to the Exchange Coordinator at your school.
If you have questions after you have been accepted by WSU as an exchange student, you should email our office at edabroad@wsu.edu
Finally, it is advisable to communicate with the Education Abroad staff in order to prepare for meeting you upon your arrival to Pullman . Please read the information concerning Arrival and Orientation.
