International Center Internships
Becoming an International Center intern is a great way to stay involved with the international community when you return from your program.

Commitment: One Semester; 12 hours per week (contact International Center Coordinator for Summer Internships)
Compensation: Students who hold the position for one semester may be eligible for up to 3 internship credits upon approval by academic departments.

Job Duties
The International Center Internship program encourages students to be well-rounded and diverse in their depth, breadth and adaptability in the global community while developing skills applicable to their specific academic and career goals. Interns will fuse both their intercultural and professional skills to better the International Center and the specific programs they manage. The International Center is still quite young, so these internships are a great opportunity for students who would like an exciting opportunity to help develop programs in a growing organization. Below is a list of available internships.
- Communications/Media Relations Coordinator
- Outreach Specialist
- Office Manager
- "Campus Friends"/ "Friends and Family" Program Development Assistant
- Events Planner
Qualifications
- Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Junior / Senior in or two years of related leadership experience.
- Desire to obtain practical knowledge in a real-world setting relating to intercultural awareness and diversity education.
- Ability to take direction and work well in a team atmosphere.
- Basic understanding of student services, program development concepts and intercultural communication.
- Ability to successfully use technology: email, word processing, spreadsheet, making flyers, and other skills based on specific internship responsibilities.
- Interest in promoting the International Center and the affiliate programs associated with this group.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully manage and execute multiple projects and processes simultaneously.
- Possess exceptional leadership, creative thinking, cognitive problem solving, management and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as effective presentation skills.
- Evening and weekend work may be required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
