Getting Involved with the International Community

Getting involved with the International Center when you return from your Education Abroad Program is a great way to stay connected to an international community and continue gaining meaningful cross-cultural leadership skills.

The GLOBAL BRIDGE Program

Connect to the WSU international community by becoming a Campus Friend or Language Partner.  WSU and Intensive American Language Center (IALC) students are always looking for ways to meet U.S. students to hang-out with, practice their conversational language skills and just have fun.  This program, which is a collaborative project between the IC and the International Business Club, matches over 100 students every year!

Peer Mentor Program

Peer Mentors are an integral part of New International Student Orientation each semester and are the first contact many new international students have with WSU upon arriving in Pullman.  Peer Mentors assist with orientation and serve as a guide and resource for first-semester international students throughout the entire semester. This program offers a unique opportunity to earn academic credits, work with diverse groups of students and have first-hand leadership experience.

International Center (IC) Academic Internship
This program encourages students to be well-rounded and diverse in their depth, breadth and adaptability in the global community while developing skills applicable to their specific academic and career goals.  Interns will earn academic credit by fusing both their intercultural and professional skills to better the International Center and the specific programs they manage.

…And So Much More!
