International Students Speak About Life and Study at Washington State University

Architecture Student from Korea

“We have an old saying in Korea that goes ‘I am a frog in a small well’. When I came to WSU I felt like I had hopped out of the well.

As a second year architecture student I had the opportunity to participate in a design competition for an entire art museum exhibition for the famous Italian artist named Giovanni Battista Piranesi. He was a 16th century architect and printing master. Luckily, my design was selected. I was the project leader in charge of organizing and building the exhibit, which took six months. Then we had a one month exhibition. This was an experience I could not even imagine doing before coming to WSU. As a student, you really help contribute to the quality of life around the community at the university.”
