The International Center encourages students to develop cross-cultural skills that are important to our increasingly global society.

International Students' Council

International Students's CouncilThe ASWSU International Students’ Council offers leadership opportunities for both international and domestic students to become involved in student government at WSU. The International Students’ Council is the official voice of the international student population on campus and is intricately involved in the internationalization of the campus community through programs such as International Education Week.

 

 

IC Peer Mentor Program

Peer Mentor AliceThe International Center's Peer Mentor Program offers an on-campus opportunity for international and domestic undergraduate students to develop cross cultural competency and communication skills. International Peer Mentors are current WSU students who help facilitate orientation for the new international students and continue contact with their mentees throughout the semester. The program offers a unique opportunity to earn academic credits, work with diverse group, and have first-hand leadership experience.

The GLOBAL BRIDGE Program

Campus Friends programThe GLOBAL BRIDGE Program matches interested international and domestic students together to learn and share about each other’s culture and language. The intent of this program is to help bridge the gap and promote friendship between U.S. and international students at WSU.

International Center Internship

International Center InternsThe International Center Internship Program offers students the opportunity to spend a semester working in the International Center, gaining leadership skills in a diverse working environment and earning academic credit. Some of our interns work on public relations, programming, office management and organizational history alumni relations and resource management.

Friends and Family

Friends and Family programThe Friends and Family Program is designed to introduce American family life to international students interested in getting off campus and into the homes of families and community members from the surrounding area. This program strengthens the ties between the campus and community and offers a great opportunity for cross-cultural sharing.

OISS Orientation Assistant

orientation assistantsThe Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) invites you to help us welcome new international students during the New International Student Orientation week by volunteering as an Orientation Assistant (OA). Both international and domestic students are encouraged to apply.
