Immigration Regulations for Academic Advisors/Departments

SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) not only affects international students in F-1 and J-1 status but also WSU’s eligibility to enroll international students. As a SEVIS approved institution, WSU has many reporting responsibilities to the Immigration Services.

The Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) serves WSU to facilitate this process and works with academic advisors and departments to prevent international students from falling out of legal student status in the U.S.

For more information, please refer to the F-1 Student Immigration Guide and the J-1 Student Handbook or contact OISS at 335-4508.
