Concurrent Employment

The H-1B1 status is employer and job specific.

The H-1B1 employee-beneficiary can only be employed and paid by the employer who sponsored the employee-beneficiary of the H-1B1 petition. In addition, the employee-beneficiary can only be employed in the specific job for which the H-1B1 was applied/approved. No other employment is allowed, unless the other employer first files a separate H-1B1 petition for concurrent employment and receives an official Notice of Receipt (Form I-797C) from the USCIS acknowledging the receipt of the H-1B1 concurrent petition.
