Orientation
The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) holds H-1B1 faculty orientations by appointment on the third Thursday of every month at 2:30 p.m. at Bryan Hall 108. Additional orientation sessions are added as needed. All H-1B1 faculty who are newly employed by Washington State University (WSU) are required to attend this orientation as scheduled.
H-1B1 faculty are asked to bring their dependent(s) immigration documents such as:
- Form I-94 - immigration arrival/departure card,
- passport and visa stamp,
- Form I-797-approval notice, and
- other documentation as requested by OISS.
The orientation session lasts approximately one hour and a half. During the orientation session scholars will learn basic immigration regulations pertinent to their H-1B1 status and H-4 status for their dependents, general information for adjustment to WSU and the surrounding Pullman community, and will also receive an H-1B1 Handbook and informational packets for future reference during their stay.
