Orientation Assistants Wanted!

The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) invites you to help us welcome new international students during the Spring 2010 New International Student Orientation week by volunteering as an Orientation Assistant (OA). Both international and domestic students are encouraged to apply.
When is Orientation?
Orientation week will begin on Tuesday, January 5, 2009.
When will OAs be trained?
OAs will have an informational meeting on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 5:00 - 7:30pm in Bryan Hall room 116. A delicious dinner will be served. All OAs are expected to attend this important meeting.
What is Airport Pick-up?
International Programs will offer a pick-up service from Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport for new international students on January 3 & 4 . Drivers and Greeters are needed for each flight on both days. OAs with a valid U.S. driver’s license can sign up to transport students from the airport and take them to campus.
What if I don’t have a valid U.S. driver’s license or don’t feel comfortable driving?
You can still participate in Airport Pick-up by acting as a Greeter. Each flight will need both a driver and a Greeter to help give a warm, friendly welcome to the newly arriving international students.
What does an OA do?
Here are some examples of OA tasks:
- Staff the Help Desk & Information Table
- Assist presenters in various sessions
- Drive WSU vehicle or greet students at Airport Pick-up
- Set-up & Clean-up
- Help serve meals and refreshments
Application Deadline
Application Deadline is Tuesday, December 1, 2009 or until all OA positions are filled.
Please note: All elligible OA applicants must be in good academic standing.
