Congratulations on your acceptance to Washington State University! The staff of the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) wants to welcome you and looks forward to assisting you during your educational experience at the University. We value your contribution to the campus community, as we will learn from each other by sharing ideas and cultural heritage. We encourage you to seek out opportunities to learn about the U.S. culture as well as teaching others about your background and society.
Summer Arrival
WSU Summer Session consists of three blocks:
Summer Session 2008 Dates:
Block A: May 5-June 13, 2008 (6 weeks)
Block B: June 2-July 25, 2008 (8 weeks)
Block C: June 16-July 25, 2008 (6 weeks)

Immigration Check-in
All international students who are issued an I-20 from WSU with summer start dates must complete the immigration check-in during one of the sessions below.
Block A: May 8, 2008, 3:00-4:30 pm @Smith Gym 214
Block B: June 5, 2008, 3:00-4:30 pm @Smith Gym 214
Block C: June 19, 2008, 3:00-4:30 pm @Smith Gym 214
Documents to bring:
- Valid passport
- F-1 visa
- I-94 card
- WSU I-20 (if applicable)
- Previous I-20 (transfer students)
You must attend the session that corresponds with your arrival (Block A, B or C). If you are unable to attend the above session, please report to OISS with all immigration documents at Bryan Hall 108 upon your arrival.

Registration for Classes
All new degree-seeking undergraduate students are required to meet with an academic advisor from Student Advising and Learning Center before registering for classes.

Minimum Enrollment Requirement
International students who begin their program in the summer session must enroll for minimum credit hours to maintain lawful status. Students may combine credits taken during different sessions (Block A-C) to meet the minimum credit requirement.
Summer-arrival Undergraduate students:
Minimum 6 semester credits
Summer-arrival Graduate students:
Minimum 3 semester credits
Cancel/Defer Attendance
If you have decided not to attend the summer session, please notify OISS at oiss@wsu.edu. If you plan to defer attendance and start your program in the fall semester, OISS will update your immigration record and issue you a new I-20.
