Students
The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) assists incoming international students and current international students with information on their immigration status and visa matters, as well as non-academic matters such as understanding US culture and the academic system.
Intercultural Understanding
OISS links international students with domestic students and the larger WSU and Pullman community, and guides students to sources of information and support both on and off campus. OISS promotes intercultural understanding at WSU, and assists in presenting the needs and perspectives of international students.
International Student Advising
OISS provides advising for international students regarding immigration status, work authorizations, visa applications, as well as non-academic matters such as understanding US culture and the academic system.
- Walk-in Advising hours (no appointment necessary)
Monday through Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Friday from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. - To make an appointment with an International Student Advisor outside of the walk-in hours, please call 335-4508
SEVIS
OISS also works to ensure that both students and the University are in compliance with all SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) requirements.
Internationalization
OISS supports international students in contributing to the internationalization of WSU. By sharing their scholarship, cultures and world views, and by developing lasting relationships with faculty and fellow students, international students enrich us all. Currently, OISS serves over 1,200 international students of Washington State University on the main Pullman campus and at the three regional campuses in Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver, Washington.
