Friends and Family


Students on Glenn Terrell Mall The Friends and Family Program is designed to introduce American family life to international students interested in getting off campus and into the homes of families from the surrounding areas Our goal is to help newcomers feel welcome and at home by building connections for them with local families. Through dinners, holidays, and everyday family events, students learn about American customs and experience U.S. family life. International students enrich our campus and community by bringing their cultures and world views into our classrooms and homes. Families will have the invaluable opportunity to bring the world right to their doorstep.

It is important to realize that Friends and Family Program is not a host family program. The students do not live with their families, but rather spend time with during the family’s and student’s free time.
