Updated Tax Information for "Late Filers"
The OISS tax assistance program has ended for 2008. CINTAX software and individual appointments are no longer available for this year. Although the filing deadline of April 15, 2008 has now passed we recommend you attempt to file your taxes anyway.
To file your tax forms you can choose one of the following methods:
- Purchase CINTAX software for $39: https://www.arcticintl.com/cintaxorder.htm. Choose “Order CINTAX INDIVIDUAL Use License Now,” or
- Prepare the tax forms yourself. View the University of Texas tax assistance site for filling in tax forms yourself: http://www.utexas.edu/international/taxes/levelofhelp.html. Forms and booklets are available online via www.irs.gov/formspubs, or in the OISS at 108 Bryan Hall, or
- Hire the services of a tax preparation service or tax accountant. Check the phone directory for contact information.
*Interest and penalties may apply to any tax return (1040NR, 1040NR-EZ, 1040, 1040A, 1040E-Z) filed after April 15, 2008.
